Kate Langbroek has revealed that her husband Peter Lewis is being sued by the city of Bologna for breaking lockdown rules amid the coronavirus pandemic. 

Appearing on Triple M’s Moonman in the Morning on Friday, the radio star said that Peter was caught riding around the Italian town on his bicycle one Sunday morning. 

The 54-year-old added that she and Peter, 44, are set to celebrate their anniversary at the weekend, and Peter joked that they should mark the occasion by getting a divorce.

Kate and Peter have been homeschooling their children for six weeks and have been in complete lockdown for four weeks. Kate joked during the radio chat that she probably sounds ‘a little on edge.’  

‘Initially you were allowed to go out and exercise, which you know Mooney, I would never do,’ Kate said with a laugh about the lockdown rules in the Italian town.  

‘Peter, my husband, actually got stopped by police on his bicycle three weeks ago at like 7am in the morning on a Sunday… and they had changed the rules the night before, it was pretty intense, he’s being sued by the city of Bologna.’

‘And they said to him, ”have you got a lawyer?” 

Kate said that they’re now in complete lockdown and that you ‘can’t even walk a dog.’

‘You cannot leave the house. I’ve probably left the house five times probably. It’s just very difficult.’

Speaking about their upcoming anniversary, she added with a laugh: ‘I said, “how should we celebrate? And he said, “by getting a divorce!”

Kate said that besides working from home, the couple weren’t doing much.

‘We lie in bed like little gumnut babies just clutching each other’s hands until we fall asleep ready to start it all again the next day.’

Italy is one of the countries that has been hit the hardest by coronavirus. Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte put the entire country on strict lockdown early last month. 

Italians have been told to stay home to try and stop the spread of the deadly virus, with only pharmacies and grocery stores open. Police permission is required for travel. 

In the Italy, there are 115,242 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and more than 13,000 deaths. 

In Australia, there are 5,136 cases of coronavirus and 25 deaths.
