Karl Stefanovic calls Today co-host Allison Langdon the ‘Wicked Witch of the West’

Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon have been co-hosting the Today show together since January and have had plenty of laughs and banter while on air. 

And on Friday, Karl took a playful swipe at Ally, 41, during a segment about tax returns. 

The 45-year-old called Ally the ‘Wicked Witch of the West,’ after she appeared to jokingly dob him into the Australian Taxation Office and hinted that he has tax trouble. 

The jab took place when the pair were talking to the ATO’s Assistant commissioner, Karen Foat, on the show.  

‘Great advice there and as I always say, I love, love, love the ATO and you guys do a fantastic job,’ Karl said after the interview, that was filled with advice for viewers on lodging tax returns this year.  

Ally went on, telling the expert: ‘And you and I should talk afterwards… I’m just saying,’ before pointing at Karl and making a funny face.  

Karl was shocked at the jab and even mentioned how she was evil laughing.

‘Oh my God, you’ve just put me in it big time! That’s not a pleasant thing to do Ally.  And look at you, you’re nasty laughing!’

‘This is my nasty laugh!’ Ally said, as she cracked up. 

The father-of-four went on to call her the Wicked Witch of the West.  

‘Like the Wicked Witch of the West! Karl’s in tax trouble!’ he said.  

Allison joined Karl for his much-anticipated return to breakfast TV earlier this year.

Karl was infamously sacked from the program in late 2018 before being rehired due to plummeting ratings.

He was axed shortly after his wedding to Jasmine Yarbrough amid growing scrutiny surrounding his personal life. 

His contract with Channel Nine ends in December.

Last month, The Sunday Telegraph reported that Nine bosses ‘have made an offer to Stefanovic and his new agent Mark Morrissey, however talks have stalled because the new contract is believed to offer less than half his former $3 million-a-year.’
