Speaking to News Corp Australia’s The BINGE Guide on Sunday, the British-born star revealed how he navigates life in the spotlight, insisting he’s mostly just ‘Jude, at home’.

The 47-year-old said it’s far ‘healthier’ for him to not dwell on his public image.

‘For me, it’s healthier and better that I do not dwell too much on other peoples’ perception of me,’ Jude began.

‘We all have our own relationship with ourselves, and I try not to consider too much or spend too long thinking about the Jude that I become, if you like, in front of fans at a film festival.

‘I feel saner trying to pretend that that doesn’t exist, because 99 per cent of the time, I’m just Jude, at home.’

Jude appears to have had a change of heart on the pressures of fame in recent years.

Speaking to US Weekly in 2018, the Sherlock Holmes actor said, that at times, he wishes he could be a regular person and walk to the corner store in his pyjamas.

‘I think the thing I loathe [about fame] is that you subconsciously are aware of, say, how you look or how you act, even when you know you’re not in the public eye,’ he began.

‘There’s a sense of, you may just put on a bobble hat, a woody hat, and a coat over your pyjamas.

‘You go around the corner to get your milk from the shops, and while 90 per cent of you is going, “Oh yeah, it’s Sunday morning, I’m getting my milk”, there’s always 10 per cent going, “Oh, bloody hell, I forgot I’ve gone out in my pyjamas. Maybe someone’s going to take my photo”,’ he continued.

Jude will next be seen in psychological drama mini-series The Third Day.

Set on a mysterious island off the British coast, his character Sam mourns the tragic death of his son, and embarks on an unforgettable journey.
