Jude Law and his son Rafferty are set to star alongside each other for the first time.

The actor, 47, and his eldest child, 24, appear in The Hat, which also happens to be the directorial debut of Jude’s ex Sadie Frost’s beau Darren Strowger.

Posters for the short feature film were released on Tuesday, and saw Rafferty look the splitting image of his father as they posed in almost identical shots.

Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree: Jude Law and son Rafferty act together for the first time in ex Sadie Frost’s beau Darren Strowger’s directorial debut The Hat, it was revealed on Tuesday

Rafferty and Jude also wore similar outfits to fuelled the similarities, as they both donned a blue jacket and an open-collared white shirt, while Rafferty wore the eponymous white hat.

Featuring an original score by The Who’s Pete Townshend, the film was shot during lockdown in the summer on an iPhone by Darren.

Gushing about the opportunity to have father and son mark their first acting collaboration, Darren said: ‘What I am most proud of is The Hat has so many firsts.

‘To have Jude and Raff starring together for the first time, to have shot the film entirely in lockdown on iPhone and to have all proceeds from the film go to charity which is a new financial model of filmmaking.

‘When you add to this a music score by Pete Townshend, which is his first since Tommy, I could not ask for more in my first film.’

While the film’s plot remains under wraps, it was announced that The Hat will have its world premiere at the Raindance Film Festival on November 6, 2020.

Darren’s debut has been nominated in the Best UK Short category, and the premiere will feature a live performance from Pete, as well as a Q&A with the director and cast.

All money from the premiere will be used to benefit the Teenage Cancer Trust and Teen Cancer America, and both Jude and Rafferty have donated their acting fee.

The Hat is the first in a series planned by Darren, with all the money set to be donated to the two charities, including any profits from streaming revenue.

Raffery has keenly followed in his fathers footsteps, and has starred in a number of short films, while he will make his feature film debut in Twist.
