Josh Gad breaks silence about the possibility of Frozen III: ‘We’ll see!’

Frozen star Josh Gad – who voices the lovable snowman Olaf – just discussed the possibility of Disney making Frozen III.

Directing duo Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee’s Frozen was an unexpected, critically-acclaimed hit in 2013 earning $1.28B at the box office, and their 2019 sequel went on to amass $1.45B.

‘Wouldn’t that be a great, non-sequitur just amazing announcement to make?’ the 39-year-old father-of-two told PopCulture.com on Monday.

‘I don’t know. I mean, here’s the deal. Frozen II wasn’t Frozen II until there was a reason to exist. And similarly, I don’t know if and when there will be a Frozen III. That’s way above my pay grade.

‘But we’ll see! If there’s always a story worth telling, I’m sure that Jennifer Lee and the incredible team over at Disney animation will tell that story one day.’

In the meantime, Josh recommended that parents show their children At Home With Olaf, a series of 20 short spin-off films currently streaming for free on YouTube.

‘There was an opportunity to take these characters and bring again a sense of hope and inspiration,’ Gad explained.

‘And it’s why the team at Disney and I teamed up on the past couple of weeks to do At Home With Olaf. And so the Frozen saga continues, even if it’s not necessarily in the form of a third movie.’

The Tony-nominated thespian added that he’d ‘probably not’ star in a solo feature about the sensational sentient snowman without Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Sven.

On Monday, Josh surprised Pittsburgh infection prevention manager Ashley Ayres and her seven-year-old daughter Paige on Monday’s episode of ABC’s Good Morning America.

The I Am With You singer turned the camera towards his ‘unnecessarily big’ Olaf statue in his home office to more authentically greet Paige as the cute character.
