Jose Mourinho is ‘under consideration to become the next Everton boss’ following the sacking of Rafa Benitez and the appointment of Duncan Ferguson as the club’s caretaker manager


Jose Mourinho is reportedly under consideration to become the next Everton manager following the sacking of Rafa Benitez.

Everton recently confirmed the appointment of Duncan Ferguson as the club’s caretaker manager but said a decision over the permanent role will be made ‘in due course’. 

However, Mourinho has joined the likes of Wayne Rooney – the former Everton forward currently managing Derby – and ex-Chelsea boss Frank Lampard in being touted as potential candidates.

According to Sky Sports, Everton have not yet made contract with Mourinho’s current club Roma. 

However, the Toffee’s owner Farhad Moshiri is contemplating a move for the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss.
