As he once again directed his talented actress wife Emily Blunt in the film he gushed about her on the program even calling her ‘the best working actress’ and his greatest collaborator.
Of their return to the thriller franchise, John said: ‘Emily and I were genuinely overwhelmed by how much kindness and respect people gave us and so as corny as it sounds, this is a thank you note to the people would came out on the first one.
‘I couldn’t do a movie that wasn’t as organic and personal to me.
‘The first movie — as psycho as it sounds — was a love letter to my kids and what I really felt about being a parent and this one is my dream for my kids. I hope that they are as brave and courageous and willing to be the people who light the candles in the middle of the dark so that’s what this movie is all about.’

Though he is married to the 37-year-old British actress, getting her to sign on to the sequel was no walk in the park.
Krasinski said: ‘She was a tough sell. I thought I had an in.
‘She said, “Listen the first one was so personal to you, why don’t you go write the script and if I can see that it’s as personal I’ll do it”‘ She read the first scene and she was like, “I’m in” — I was lucky to have her.’

The 2018 thriller A Quiet Place was the first movie that both Blunt and Krasinski had starred in together, though they’ve been married since July 2010.
The thriller was set in a post-apocalyptic world invaded by alien creatures who hunt by sound, with Blunt and Krasinski playing parents trying to protect their children (Simonds, Noah Jupe).
The first movie was a breakout hit, earning $188 million domestic and $340.9 million worldwide from just a $17 million budget.

A Quiet Place II is the only movie opening in wide release on March 20, with Deadline projecting it to debut at $60 million in its opening weekend.
