Joan Collins, Kieron Richardson and Michelle Keegan have put up their Christmas decorations ALREADY

In the midst of lockdown 2.0, it seems celebrities are passing the time by decking the halls for Christmas nearly two months early.

The likes of Joan Collins, Michelle Keegan, Kimberley Walsh, Jess Wright and Kieron Richardson have taken to Instagram to show off their elaborate festive decor, using the time forced upon us during the pandemic to get a jump start on the holidays.

Dame Joan posted a snap looking proudly up at her brightly-lit tree, captioning it: ‘So what else should one do during #lockdown in #november?’

Getting a jump on things: In the midst of lockdown 2.0, it seems celebrities are passing the time by decking the halls for Christmas nearly two months early. Dame Joan Collins posted a snap looking proudly up at her brightly-lit tree, captioning it – ‘So what else should one do during #lockdown in #november?’

Joan smiled at the bedecked tree in her living room, toasting with a glass of fizz.

The American Horror Story actress’ festive theme was white gold and red, with dove, angel and ballerina ornaments. There was also a picture of what appeared to be her husband Percy Gibson hanging in one snowflake bauble.

Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson shared a snap with his husband and two children as they sat among a Santa’s grotto of decorations.

The family perched on their blue velvet sofa in front of an impressive tree with matching garlands strewn across the French doors behind them.

These were bedecked with blue, white and tartan ornaments, featuring bows, poinsettia flowers and stuffed reindeer.

Around the tree was gold-wrapped gifts, a family of penguins and a Dickensian-style street lamp.

The tree also featured giant sweets and candy canes in red and white.

The Wright-Keegan household followed suit with the sweetie theme over in Essex.

Michelle Keegan and Mark Wright took to Instagram on Sunday to show off their extravagant festive decor, as they bedecked their home for the holidays seven weeks ahead of Christmas Day.

Their tree, banisters and the doorway to the house they share was strewn with giant candy canes and lollipops.

Mark documented the process, from the delivery of a gigantic tree, to the decorating of it to the impressive finished product.

Michelle posted a snap of the entryway to their home, door ajar, large tree standing pride of place in the hallway next to the staircase.

She captioned this: ‘The festivities have started early. It’s 2020, and the rules have gone out the window!! Pass me the mulled wine!’

On the front step were two life-size toy soldiers, in the style of the queen’s guards, protecting the house. A massive garland ran around the doorway, lit up and decorated with sweet-themed baubles and more candy canes.

Wrapped gifts sat on the front stoop and a large wreath was seen hanging from the door.

The tree itself stretched up to the height of the stairs and was covered in red and white decorations, with Merry Christmas and Santa Stop Here signs hanging from it.

Completing the look, a garland was pictured running up the stair banister, matching the sweet-themed decorations on the tree.

Michelle first hinted that she was considering putting the decorations up at the end of last week, asking fans if they thought it was too soon. And Mark joked on Sunday that they’d ordered the wrong-sized tree.

He filmed the box lying in the hallway and then the bare tree standing by the stairs, joking that they’d misjudged the height of it.

Mark’s sister Jessica was also early erecting her tree.

Taking to Instagram she filmed herself spraying the faux fir in fake snow, giving it a white frosty look.

Going for a pastel look, Jess decorated the tree in pale silver, blue and pink ornaments, festooning it with bright white lights.
