Jess Shears and Dom Lever address speculation about having a second secret child in lockdown

They welcomed their first child, a son, in October last year.

And Jess Shears and Dom Lever have finally addressed speculation that they have already welcomed a second secret child after rumours began circulating last month.

Speaking during an appearance on Fubar Radio’s Access All Areas, the Love Island couple shut down reports that they’ve secretly welcomed another addition to the family, joking that they ‘couldn’t keep the first one a secret!’

Speaking out: Jess Shears and Dom Lever have finally addressed speculation that they have already welcomed a second secret child after rumours began circulating last month

Speculation started last month when Dom, 29, shared a series of sweet photos of himself and his wife on Instagram to mark her 27th birthday.

However, he left fans scratching their heads as he referred to the model as ‘the mother of my children’ despite the couple only having one son together.

He wrote: ‘Happy birthday to my Wife and the mother of my children not to mention an absolute worldie ! I hope you have an amazing day. Love you ❤️.’

Speaking to hosts Stephen Leng and Bobby Norris, Dom was quick to clear up the confusion and explained that his use of the plural children was actually in reference to the couple’s pets.

He said: ‘We’ve got dogs, we’ve got a rabbit. Long before this little devil came along.’

While Jess chimed in: ‘We’ve got fur babies! And they will always be the original ones.’

Talking of their ninth-month-old, who’s name they’ve yet to reveal, Dom added: ‘We couldn’t keep the first one a secret. What makes them think we could keep another one secret!’

The pair have been relatively secret when it comes to their baby however as in December last year they finally revealed that their newborn baby is a boy – three months after welcoming him into the world.

Speaking at the time, Jess told JD’s In the Duffle Bag podcast: ”It wasn’t so much of a secret, people made more out of it.’

While Dom shared: ‘I think it was because they were expecting some kind of grand announcement when he was born, what his name was and stuff and I think we just weren’t really fussed.’

The happy couple met and fell in love in the Love Island villa in 2017, before going on to marry a year later in October 2018.

However, despite finding both fame and love on the ITV2 show, they are reluctant to appear on screens again.

Jess told Fubar: ‘It’s such a big part of our lives and I love it, but I’m not sure there’s a space for us in it again.

Speculation: Talking of their ninth-month-old, who's name they've yet to reveal, Dom added: 'We couldn’t keep the first one a secret. What makes them think we could keep another one secret!'

‘I think there’s pros and cons. I think it’s so entertaining and it is amazing, but it changes your life in so many ways. There are, as with everything, good and bad sides to that.’

While Dom added: ‘I’m not as eager to. Before Love Island I would have done anything, but now I’m a bit more reserved of it. I think, ‘is that right?’ I wouldn’t do it so much for the fame side of things. I’d do it for the experience.’

However, despite their reservations, they did insist that they wouldn’t rule out a reality show that would really challenge them.

Dom revealed: ‘We’ve spoken about certain shows that we’d do and it’d be SAS [Who Dares Wins] or Bear Grylls [The Island]. Something that’d test me or push me. Something that I think I’d enjoy to do rather than doing it for the sake of it.’
