Health woes: Radio host Jess Eva has shared an update after she was rushed to hospital after her ears became infested with bugs while filming I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here

‘The pain increased significantly Tuesday and was admitted to treat the pain (not ICU). Today I saw the ENT specialists and we discovered fungus, hairy, black gross fungus growing everywhere inside the ear. In what would be a pimple poppers delight, she vacuumed it out.

‘The mini vacuum head getting clogged in some stages, from hairy yellow and black balls of. They have a treatment plan, I’m already feeling a million times better.

‘This whole process would have really freaked me out, but after popping @cfassnidge bum pimple last night on @imacelebrityau I feel like nothing will ever compare. Anyway, as a mamma who doesn’t normally like to whinge at her illnesses and just get on with it. I’m a bit embarrassed at all the commotion.

‘Thank you so much for all your beautiful messages and thank-you so much to Royal North Shore Hospital. Love ya xx #imacelebrityau.’

On Wednesday morning, Jess’ Triple M co-host Lawrence Mooney explained to listeners that Jess is currently in ‘intensive care’ after having a ‘menagerie’ of bugs syringed out of her ears by doctors over the past couple of weeks.

He said on Moonman in the Morning: ‘That situation has become critical, and she is now in intensive care on morphine because the pain has become insufferable overnight, so she is in hospital.’

‘Jess you can’t hear us, but our thoughts are with you,’ he added.

Co-host Chris Page stressed that Jess’ situation is serious, adding that she is ‘not a sickie sort of person’ and will still turn up to work even when she’s unwell.

Lawrence added that he was ashamed that he was ‘less than sympathetic’ to Jess when she first revealed her medical issue, recalling that he blatantly questioned her hygiene habits a few weeks ago.

Making up for his past remarks, he said: ”I’ll tell you what kind of a woman has bugs in her ears – a woman who’s in intensive care on morphine because the pain is so extreme.’

‘I feel a little bit shame-faced that I didn’t take it more seriously, I thought it was just that it was just a bit of a Jess wind-up,’ he added.

‘But it has taken a turn for the worse, so our love to you Jess.’
