Jersey Shore: Family Vacation: Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino spills secret with TV cameras rolling

Mike ‘The Situation’ Sorrentino spilled a pal’s secrets when he forgot he was on camera during Thursday’s episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation.

The 38-year-old reality star had been talking to Deena Cortese, 33, about her reluctance to speak to Angelina Pivarnick, 34, who was staying at the same Las Vegas hotel as they were.

Deena was part of a trio of friends, including Jenni ‘JWoww’ Farley, 34, and Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi, 33, who had made an off-color speech at Angelina’s wedding that caused a severe falling out.

As Mike urged Deena to make up with Angelina after 10 months of squabbling, she dropped a bomb and revealed being instructed by Jenni not to resolve the issue.

Deena seemed unaware that as she spoke to Mike and his wife Lauren Sorrentino, 35, in a hotel corridor, they were being taped by microphones and cameras.

‘This is between me and you,’ she said. ‘I wanna make sure they can’t hear me right now.’

Deena revealed that when she told Jenni the guys had been ‘pushing’ her and Angelina to have a sit-down, Jenni said, ‘Don’t give in to them at all or I’m not coming.’

The show’s camera crew sneaked in and quietly placed cameras in front of the trio as Deena kept going.

‘I don’t need her telling me if I should or should not sit down. I came here not expecting to do it, and I have to prepare myself,’ Deena said.

Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, 35, walked by and observed that his pals seemed to be having a private conversation, but he wondered if they remembered they were ‘being recorded at all times.’

Mike immediately texted him and the other guys the news, and Deena said, ‘You told them?’

‘Welcome to my life,’ Lauren cracked. ‘You can’t tell him anything without the whole world knowing.’

‘What do you mean ”the whole world”?’ Mike asked her. ‘It’s just us.’

Reading the text, the guys were aghast.

‘It’s like Game Of Thrones now,’ said Vinny Guadagnino, 33, unable to believe that Jenni was dictating what Deena could do.

Mike cruised by to say hi and feigned ignorance when they asked him what he’d been doing.

When they asked Mike about the text he’d sent, he paled and said, ‘That’s just for us.’

‘I am in shock,’ Vinny marveled. ‘I don’t think Mike knows that he was on camera! After 10 years of being on TV, the guy still doesn’t realize that what you talk about on a reality TV show set gets caught on camera.’

‘You do know that those are on, right?’ DJ Pauly D, 40, asked him. ‘In the corridor, too.’

‘In the corridor?’ Mike asked, blood draining from his face. ‘Oh s***.’

A producer emerged, and Mike said to her, ‘You heard all that?’

‘Yes, Mike!’ she returned. ‘You’re on television!’

‘Everybody gonna be mad at me now,’ Mike realized, as he remembered how angry Jenni could get. ‘Jenni’s gonna start staking me out.’

The guys had earlier been proud of the fact that they’d finally convinced Angelina to speak to Deena.

‘I’m just over it at this point,’ Angelina agreed in a confessional. ‘It’s just a lot, I feel like, on everybody. The whole family split up. I’m like, let’s be done with this.’

Although she was eager to talk, the men felt it wasn’t time yet for the two women to meet face-to-face, so they kept them apart for a while longer.

First, they took Angelina paddle boarding and kayaking in a nearby lake, then they joined Deena for an Italian dinner al fresco.

The guys said they weren’t going to rush Deena into any discussion, but Mike blurted it out.

‘Angelina seems to have had a change of heart,’ he told Deena, who was not amused.

‘She always comes in with a change of heart when people are pi**ed off at her,’ Deena replied, noting that she’d had no intention of sitting down with Angelina during her trip.

In a confessional, she said, ‘It’s not my problem that they decided to double-book us on this vacation.’

While Deena dined with the men, Angelina supped with Lauren.

She shared that the past year had not been easy for her, adding, ‘I’ve been very depressed.’

Her husband, sanitation employee Chris Larangeira, 42, was an ‘essential’ worker, and so had been working during the COVID-19 pandemic while everyone else was ‘bunkered up.’

Chris’ mother was going through cancer, and had a year of chemo ahead, she continued.

Then Angelina explained that for the past two years she’d been involved in a sexual harassment lawsuit against the New York City Fire Department, which she’d just settled for $350,000.

She had worked as an EMT in Staten Island, New York, from 2016 to 2018, and claimed in the suit that she had been verbally and physically harassed by superiors.

‘To other people, being an EMT’s nothing, but to me, it was like, I wanted to help people for a living, and then right away, lieutenants were saying disgusting things to me,’ she recalled. ‘And literally, one of them touched me. Every time I’d go to work, I’d do the sign of the cross, literally, before walking in.’

‘That’s horrible,’ Lauren affirmed.

‘Even though I said ”I don’t want this”,’ it just kept going,’ Angelina continued. ‘And I had to say something ’cause I couldn’t take it anymore.’

The harassment had gone on for two years, and she’d seen a therapist about it.

‘I think I let all the weight of my life weigh me down,’ Angelina said, which made Lauren realize that her friend had been going through more than any of them knew.

Angelina admitted that she wanted to move forward with Deena, but it was hard, because she’d had a defense mechanism up her whole life.

‘That’s why a lot of people don’t know me for me,’ she concluded.

After dinner, the girls went to bed and the guys rode mini motorcross bikes around the hotel lobby.

The next day, after Mike texted everyone Deena’s news, Lauren met Deena by the pool.

She reminded Deena that she had once been the closest to Angelina, noting, ‘I think the falling-out with you hurt her the most.’

‘We’ll have to see,’ Deena said, her thoughts impenetrable.
