She tagged him in the image but did not provide clues as what the final result would be.

Rachel debuted what is now called The Rachel haircut on the April 6, 1995 Friends episode called The One With the Evil Orthodontist.

At the time, Chris wanted to give her a haircut that would suit her Friends character Rachel Green, according to CR Fashionbook.

Rachel is a spoiled, naive twenty-something who had just moved to New York City, so Chris make her hair multi-length with lots of layers using a razor instead of shears.

He also added layers to the front to complete the look, using a round brush and blow dryer for even more volume.

Jennifer had brunette tresses with several blonde highlights as well for the now signature ‘do.

The haircut and color became an instant hit around the world, with millions emulating the look and requesting it at the hair salon.

It didn’t actually last long as Rachel’s hairstyle, as it was only seen on her character until The Once Where Eddie Won’t Go – episode 19 of season 2, which aired March 28, 1996.

Eventually Rachel’s Friends hairstyle become long, sleek and minimal layers with a honey blonde tone – toward the second half of the series, which ran from 1994 until 2004.

Despite the fact that a countless number of people got The Rachel haircut, Jennifer herself confessed in 2011 to Allure magazine that she did not like that hair style at all.

The needing to blow dry it with a round brush to maintain the shape and volume wasn’t an easy look to constantly maintain.

She said: ‘I love Chris, and he’s the bane of my existence at the same time because he started that damn Rachel, which was not my best look. How do I say this? I think it was the ugliest haircut I’ve ever seen.’

Jennifer has opted to keep her locks at a more brunette tone currently with just a touch of golden caramel highlights.
