Jason Bateman works up a sweat during jog… amid uncertainty surrounding season four of his Netflix series Ozark

Jason Bateman escaped the confines of his Hollywood Hills home on Friday to embark on an afternoon run.

The 51-year-old actor kept a purple bandana fastened around his neck as he forged his own way through the popular Franklin Canyon Hiking trail.

Jason’s outing comes after he admitted in an interview with Collider that his Netflix series Ozark does not currently have ‘an official pickup for Season 4.’

Though Ozark’s fourth season is not ‘Netflix Official,’ Jason revealed that he and his castmates are ‘all operating under the hope it will happen.’

‘It’s Netflix’s norm to wait for a show to premiere and collect the data for weeks 2, 3, and 4, and see if there’s an audience there to justify an additional season,’ explained the actor.

Season three of the critically acclaimed series premiered on Netflix on March 27 and consisted of 10 episodes.

‘But, I know Chris [Mundy, showrunner] and his team are hard at work figuring out what that fourth season would be if that official pick-up lands.’

Jason stated that he is not just hopeful for a season four, but that he is banking on a fifth season due to the way the character arcs in the show have evolved.

‘There’s been this sort of character arc that [Mundy] has been incredible at staying on…I think there’s always been the presumed area [of] three seasons, four seasons, five seasons, something like that,’ said Bateman.

He added: ‘[Ozark] was never going to be a limited series of just 10 episodes.’

Ozark – which debuted on Netflix in July of 2017 – follows a married couple who relocates from Chicago to the Ozarks ‘following a money laundering scheme gone wrong.’

Bateman stars alongside industry veteran Laura Linney, and rising star Julia Garner – who won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in the series last year.
