Ja’net Dubois dies at age 74: Good Times actress, two-time Emmy winner and singer passes away in her sleep

Ja’net Dubois has died at the age of 74 at her home in Glendale, California.

The actress, who played Willona Woods on the sitcom Good Times in the seventies, died unexpectedly in her sleep overnight, TMZ reported.

Ja’net, who has three children, was most recently seen at a fan event a few weeks ago and had not complained of any ailments recently.

It is unknown who discovered her body on Tuesday morning.

In addition to Good Times, Ja’net has appeared in a variety of films including Tropic Thunder, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle and I’m Gonna Get You Sucka.

She is also the composer behind the theme song for The Jeffersons, called Movin’ On Up.

Ja’net won two Emmy Awards for her voice-over work on The PJs – in 1999 and 2001.
