Bachelor alum Jade Roper defends videos of her son on a swing at a public park amid coronavirus closures: ‘This was weeks ago’

Jade Roper responded to critics on Sunday after getting backlash for posting snaps of her son Brooks playing on a swing for the first time.

Amid social distancing closures in the effort to stop the spread of coronavirus Jade’s Instagram followers questioned why she was at a public park with her seven-month-old.

‘A series of photos of Brooks swinging for the first time. Enjoy,’ The 33-year-old Bachelor alum captioned the cute snaps and video, adding, ‘(These are pre-quarantine, btw)’.

But it seems some of her fans missed the last part of her note as she began to receive messages telling her to keep her children inside to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Jade responded by posting another message on her Instagram stories which read: ‘I understand you all are coming from a place of safety,

‘Those videos of Brooks swinging are from weeks ago. I just thought they could make some people smile today,’ she continued, ‘I haven’t even left my house except to go get the mail at our mailbox in 10 days. I encourage the message, but kindness is always nice too.’

Jade also has two-year-old daughter Emerson, with husband Tanner Tolbert and has been documenting her time in self-quarantine with her family.

The brunette beauty sparked a funny conversation on Instagram last week when she invited her followers to tell their quarantining-with-children stories, jokingly referring to her kids as ‘co-workers’.

‘My coworker followed me in to the bathroom where I was trying to go #2. Standing there staring at me, she then asks me to spray the Poo-pouri into the toilet while I was already sitting down.’ she explained.

‘So I was like, whatever makes her happy, fine. So while still sitting, I open my legs and spray, and accidentally spray the poopouri with CINNAMON oil all over my vajay. At this point I need to take a shower to wash it off my BURNING in agony crotch.

‘As I’m going up the stairs, my coworker, of course, INSISTS on watching me take said shower. She then hops in the shower fully clothed screaming “I’m all wet!” over and over, but doing nothing to change her situation.

‘Then my two other coworkers decide to come watch me, staring at me for the rest of my shower, because apparently everyone is bored and I’m in charge of entertainment.’

Jade participated in Season 19 of The Bachelor and Tanner was a contestant on the 11th season of The Bachelorette, but the pair found love on the second season of Bachelor in Paradise.

The couple married during a special episode of Ben Higgin’s season of the popular ABC dating show in 2016 and now share two children.
