Jada Pinkett Smith is addressing the effect of gun violence on women the latest episode of her Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk.

In a special moment, Smith sits down with late rapper Nipsey Hussle’s longtime partner Lauren London during the show to talk about grief and loss.

‘Trauma feels so lonely,’ London, 35, tells the 48-year-old actress in a teaser for the Wednesday episode.

The clip starts by referring to the case of Breonna Taylor, a black EMT who was shot eight times by police officers while in her own home in Louisville, Kentucky back in March. 

The topic of the show, ‘How gun violence affects women’, appeared in banner across the screen.

It then pivots to an intimate conversation between Smith and London.

She’s joined by daughter Willow and mom Adrienne Banfield Norris at the table, where they’re met by another guest who explains: ‘I’ve seen mothers just stop living.’

Jada’s episode comes at a particularly poignant time.

Demonstrations have swept across America, protesting racism and police violence after the death of George Floyd at the hands of a cop last Monday.

Jada took to social media to show her and Red Table Talk’s support for the cause on Monday, writing: ‘Red Table Talk will always be a protected space to have difficult yet necessary conversations.
