An Australian influencer has divided social media by admitting she prefers eating McDonald’s cheeseburgers cold.

Amy Hembrow, 30, claims they actually taste better after a few hours in the fridge – but not everyone is convinced.

While discussing unpopular opinions on her podcast Hanging with the Hembrows, the mother of one defended her strange habit and insisted others should give it a try

Amy, who is the older sister of Instagram star Tammy Hembrow, 26, said: ‘I like to buy burgers from McDonald’s and put them in the fridge and eat them cold.’

‘I like cold burgers. I will buy two, I’ll eat one hot and save one in the fridge for later to eat cold. A Big Mac or a cheeseburger. Love it,’ she added.

Tammy, 26, was shocked by her sibling’s admission, and said: ‘That’s gross! You’re not our sister anymore.’

Tammy and Amy’s other sister, Emilee, was equally unimpressed.

After the episode was released, fans of the Hembrows flocked to Instagram to debate her McDonald’s cheeseburger ‘hack’.

Many agreed her obsession with refrigerated burgers was ‘yuck’ and said they would never try it.

But a few others said they were open to the idea.

The Hembrow sisters became known as ‘the Australian Kardashians’ after Tammy made headlines in 2019 over a regrettable incident at Kylie Jenner’s 21st birthday party in West Hollywood.

She was carried out of the Delilah nightclub face down on a stretcher after collapsing on the dance floor.  

While Tammy was understandably embarrassed, the scandal transformed her from a humble Instagram influencer into a bona fide celebrity in her home country.

Tammy is the daughter of Australian director, screenwriter and musician Mark Hembrow. Her sisters are Amy, Emilee, Ava and Starlette. 

She has two children of her own, Saskia, four, and son Wolf, five, whom she shares with her ex-partner Reece Hawkins, and boasts 12 million Instagram followers. 

Amy has 279,000 followers on Instagram and co-owns a beauty clinic on the Gold Coast called Sskin, in partnership with Emilee.
