I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! star Toni Pearen hints she’ll return to Home and Away after a scandalous storyline left her character ‘banished’

She left Home and Away in 1994 after her character, private tutor Beth Armstrong, was ‘banished’ from Summer Bay for having a affair with one of her students.

And 27 years later, actress and singer Toni Pearen has revealed she is open to returning to the soap opera.

‘Her affair with student Tug was very illicit, so she was banished,’ the I’m a Celebrity star, 48, told TV Week.

‘But wouldn’t it be nice to see her come back? And she’s had this crooked past and she ends up in Summer Bay to redeem herself… with Tug’s child? Now there’s a plot twist!’ she added.

Toni’s Home and Away storyline was scandalous at the time, with Beth being sent packing from Summer Bay because of her fling with Tug, played by Tristan Bancks.

She hasn’t acted on TV since welcoming her first child, a son named Lucky, in 2009. She and her husband, Will Osmond, welcomed a daughter, Ever, in 2012.

Toni is currently a contestant on Channel 10’s I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 

During a recent episode, she discussed her dating life in Hollywood in the late ’90s while in conversation with co-star Abbie Chatfield.

‘I actually never had an American boyfriend when I was there because American men are intense,’ the former E Street star said. 

‘I remember I met this guy, I used to go to this café every single day. Do you know who Marisa Tomei is? She’s an actress, like quite a famous actress… Her brother. He asked me out. He was fine. It was fine. We kissed. Nothing amazing,’ she added.

However, he made a bizarre request on their date which had her running for the hills.

‘That night, he calls me, and he goes, “As you know, I just broke up with my girlfriend and everything, and we have a dog. And I’ve just moved to this apartment and I can’t take my dog. Could you take my dog?”

‘I was like, “Um, no, I can’t take your dog. I don’t even know you!”‘
