‘Last night, we were watching the television and there were helicopters overhead and protests and arrests in the West Village, which is where we live,’ she said.

‘I notice every morning now when we go to walk the dogs, there is a tension in the air. We are hoping for an answer very soon so people’s anxiety can be relieved.’

When asked if her family had any plans to return to Australia, Deborra-lee revealed they were hoping to come back ‘as soon as we can’.
