Home and Away’s Sam Frost is forced to remind fans she’s an actress playing a character after receiving online hate over latest storyline

Actress Sam Frost has received online hate following her character’s latest plotline on Home and Away.

On Thursday, the former Bachelorette was forced to remind fans she wasn’t Jasmine Delaney, who she portrays on-screen.

‘People are very angry at me at the moment but I think I just need to remind everyone it’s a TV show,’ Sam told her legion of Instagram followers in a since-deleted series of videos. ‘It’s not real, I don’t actually want to steal a baby.’

The 31-year-old then added: ‘It’s just a TV show and I’m playing a character so relax.’

On the show, Jasmine is trying to win custody over her deceased husband Robbo’s baby, which would take the child away from the biological mother Tori (played by Penny McNamee), who is a fan favourite character.

It comes after Sam revealed she has ‘crippling anxiety’ over the coronavirus pandemic in a blog post for mental health site Believe in March.

She said she had been ‘crying hysterically’ on the phone with her mother because she felt so isolated.

In a bid to encourage fans to put their mental health first during this trying time, Sam bravely admitted: ‘Quite honestly, I am feeling more alone than ever.’

Describing the pandemic as a ‘challenging time’ for the world, Sam went on to say that the unknown can be ‘triggering’ for people who struggle with their mental health.

‘My thoughts are with you all, especially those who struggle with mental health issues. The instability and the unknown can be very triggering for us.’

Sam went on to tell fans to make their mental health a ‘priority’ and even linked to an article that helped with ‘coronavirus anxiety.’

She also encouraged fans to check in with their friends and family, as people self-isolate.
