Hilaria Baldwin shuts down body shamers in new Instagram video as Amy Schumer apologizes

Just a day after Amy Schumer jokingly re-posted a photo of her with newborn child Leonardo, Hilaria Baldwin is calling out body shamers.

The 36-year-old wife of Alec Baldwin took to Instagram on Tuesday to address comments stemming from Schumer’s Instagram post on Monday, where she shared Baldwin’s photo from Sunday where she was in a bra and panties holding Leonardo.

After posting the video, Schumer apologized, though Baldwin made it clear she had no problem with her joke re-post, but rather the comments that stemmed from it.

She began that Amy Schumer, ‘reposted a picture of me with my baby, talking about this really cool cream that I helped developed,’ adding that she has posted, ‘a million photos like that’ and she didn’t think it was going to be a ‘big deal.’

Hilaria added that she ‘loves jokes’ and she thought it was ‘very funny,’ though she admitted she didn’t entirely understand it.’

She added that she loves making fun of herself and making fun of her husband Alec, adding, ‘if you’re gonna dish it out, you better accept it back.’

However, her only issue with Schumer’s re-posted photo was it ‘started to spiral out of control… where we’re getting into a place of body shaming.’

‘Does it hurt my feelings if some people are out there, who I don’t even know are critiquing why I most post a photo, and I had looked differently, would I have posted that photo? I sure hope so,’ Baldwin said.

She added that she loves looking at photos and ‘supporting our bodies’ and that if you’re, ‘honoring yourself and you’re celebrating yourself, I love it.’

Baldwin continued that the problem is people put down others, whether they be too big or too small.

She said that some have claimed, ‘moms don’t look like that,’ but Baldwin quickly added, ‘Some moms do. This mom does, and I am included in the inclusivity.’

Baldwin admitted that she loves to exercise, though she doesn’t have a lot of time to do it, adding she ‘fits it in throughout the day.’

‘I try my very best to fit it in, because it makes me feel good,’ she said, adding she just broke her ankle five weeks ago and she’s doing rehab on her own.

She continued defending the way she looked by adding, ‘I come from smaller people, I have been a fitness person my entire life… and there’s no need that I need to apologize for that, just like there’s no need that anyone else needs to apologize for what they look like and their life story.’

Baldwin concluded by stating there is too much negativity this year and she can’t wait until they can be together again, asking for everyone to be ‘a little bit kinder.’

Schumer would go on to comment on her post, ‘I’m sorry!’ though Baldwin made it clear she had no issue with her joke.

‘Girl, don’t even apologize! You always make me laugh. My only intentions were to address some of the not so namaste behavior some of the people went running wild with after. You don’t need to take responsibility for their actions. Much love and light xoxo,’ Baldwin said.
