‘I love therapy. I’ve learned the more you know about yourself, the more you know about every human being on this Earth,’ Winkler began.

‘I was not necessarily as strong as I thought I was. I was not as together as I thought I was,’ Winkler added.

‘Then through therapy you learn. I see myself as a big block of swiss cheese, and through therapy I’m trying to become cheddar – I’m trying to fill in all the holes,’ the Barry star added.

‘It makes me sad that it took me this long to figure that out, whatever “that” is,’ Winkler continued.

‘I wasted so much time in my life not looking for the answer, not looking for a way to blossom like a flower. I wish I had done it in my 20s,’ the actor said.

Winkler admitted that he was skeptical of therapy, adding, ‘it sounds like they are speaking Russian.’

‘Then one day all of a sudden it makes sense and you go, ‘Oh, that’s what they meant,’ he added of the moment it finally clicked.

‘You’re actually seeing it in action and, I’ll tell you what, I love emerging from the cocoon,’ Winkler said.

The actor didn’t clarify how long he’s been in therapy for, though it seems to be working wonders for him.
