Helena Bonham Carter adopts social distancing with boyfriend

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has asked people in the UK to keep two metres apart in a bid to stop the spread of the coronavirus. 

And The Crown actress Helena Bonham Carter, 53, was doing just that on Sunday, when she enjoyed a bike ride with her writer beau, Rye Dag Holmboe, 32. 

The pair were pictured cycling apart from one another as Boris warned he might have to shut down parks if people continue to fail to adopt social distancing.

He said on Sunday: ‘If you don’t do it responsibly… we will have to bring forward further measures.’ 

Helena was easy to spot on her Victorian-style bike, wearing a checked jacket, black skirt and trainers. 

Showing her usual creative flair, she also wore a helmet which was emblazoned with bold flowers. 

Rye wore a navy jacket with khaki trousers and brown loafers and tucked his trousers into his socks for safety. 

On Thursday, Helena was pictured picking up an immune system boosting fruit juice, no bid in a bid to stay healthy amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

She had her son Billy, 16, with her in tow.  

Meanwhile, in late 2019, Helena discussed her relationship with her boyfriend of one year, gushing their romance has been ‘a bit of unexpected magic in my life’. 

Helena has two children with director, Tim Burton, who she was in a relationship with for 13 years, ending in 2004. 

She told Harper’s Bazaar: ‘You break up, you grieve, you get bored of grieving. And then you finally move on’

‘I’m very happy with someone else. It’s been a bit of unexpected magic in my life.’
