Hawkeye set photos reveal first look at Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop alongside Jeremy Renner

Filming is under way on the highly-anticipated Disney Plus Marvel TV series Hawkeye, with photos from the set revealing the first look at Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop.

The 23-year-old actress was also spotted alongside her 49-year-old co-star Jeremy Renner, who plays Clint Barton, a.k.a. Hawkeye, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, plus a dog who’s likely portraying Lucky the PIzza Dog from the comics.

Reports surfaced on Monday that filming was about to start soon on the superhero series, with filming getting under way at a New York City subway station.

Steinfefld was wearing a purple sweatsuit under a calf-length wool trench coat, with her jet-black hair pulled back in a ponytail.

She was carrying an old bow in one hand and her dog’s leash in the other, as she rushed down the subway stairs behind Renner.

The actress completed her look with a pair of black combat boots on the New York set of this highly-anticipated series.

Both Steinfeld and Renner looked like they were just coming from a fight of some kind, with bruising on Steinfeld’s cheek and a gash seen on Renner’s forehead. 

The actor, who made his first Marvel Cinematic Universe appearance as Hawkeye in a brief cameo in 2011’s Thor, rocked a green hoodie under a sturdy brown coat.

He also had a tan backpack strapped to his back, with dark blue jeans and brown boots to complete his costume.

While no official plot details have been revealed, it is believed that this series will focus on Clint Barton training Kate Bishop to take over as the new Hawkeye.

Bishop debuted in the Marvel Comics in Young Avengers #1 back in 2005, taking over as the new Hawkeye in the 12th issue.

There is speculation that bringing Kate Bishop into the Marvel Cinematic Universe could hint that there may be a Young Avengers movie or TV series on the horizon.
