Happy Days star Anson Williams files for divorce a SECOND TIME from wife of 32 years Jackie Gerken

Happy Days star Anson Williams has filed for divorce a second time from his wife of 32 years, Jackie Gerken.

Anson, 70, initially filed for divorce on September 11 last year, but he and Jackie eventually decided to give the marriage another try.

However their attempts at reconciliation have apparently failed and he filed for divorce yet again last Friday in Los Angeles, TMZ reports.

‘Despite best efforts to work things out or make allowances, and as difficult as it is, sometimes you have to do what’s best for everyone,’ he said after last year’s filing.

On October 1, 2019, roughly three weeks after filing for divorce the first time, Anson moved to legally dismiss the split.

Anson and Jackie married in 1988 and reportedly have four daughters together – Hannah, Olivia, Gabrielle, and Stella, according to IMDb.

Amid the first divorce filing People reported Anson was asking to split legal and physical custody of Olivia, Gabrielle and Stella. Hannah was already an adult.

Anson also reportedly has a child from his first marriage to actress Lorrie Mahaffey, which lasted from 1978 until 1986.

During his time with Lorrie, she had a six-episode arc on Happy Days as Jennifer Jerome, who dated Anson’s iconic character Potsie Weber.

Anson was part of the principal cast of Happy Days all throughout the sitcom’s 11-season run on ABC from 1974 until 1984.

Since 1985 he has also been a TV director on shows as varied as Star Trek: Voyager, Melrose Place, Baywatch and Lizzie McGuire.

Anson rose to fame on Happy Days with such names as Ron Howard, Henry Winkler, Don Most, Marion Ross and the late Tom Bosley and Erin Moran.

Last year Anson told WHYY that the surviving cast have stayed in touch after having ‘been through marriages, divorces, deaths, hard times, good times.’

He shared: ‘It’s like we’re families that stay together through thick and thin for four decades. We’re all just a phone call away.’

Late in 2016 he was diagnosed with cancer and after defeating the illness he told Closer Weekly how the experience changed his outlook.

‘I learned to have a deeper appreciation for my family. I always knew I loved them and they were important, but now it’s at a whole new level,’ he said.
