Halle Berry responds to criticism after she posted video of son Maceo wearing her heels: ‘Let’s have a laugh and some compassion’

Halle Berry has hit back after receiving negative comments about her son wearing heels.

The actress has been isolating amid the coronavirus with her son Maceo and daughter Nahla and posted a lighthearted video of her six-year-old son wandering the house in a pair of her heels. 

But Berry was quick to shut down the haters, and encouraged fans to see the lighter side of things during the global pandemic.

The 53-year-old wrote ‘harmless fun,’ to one user who criticized the choice. ‘Tryna survive right now. You feel me?.’ 

‘It’s tight on these kids right now. Let’s have a laugh and some compassion yawl,’ she wrote to another.  

One commenter wrote, ‘she’s having the time of her life lol,’ to which the John Wick 3 actress replied ‘well it’s a he and he is having a ball. Tryna cope the best he can. Laughter helps a lot right now.’

She also responded to some positive comments and shared in the joy with fans. 

One fan wrote ‘That dressed up and no where to go mood,’ to which Berry responded ‘oh he got some place he tryna go, but his mama won’t let him.’ 

To another fan she said ‘being shit in gets more comical everyday,’ and agreed with a fan who said ‘we’re all losing it together.’ 

She took to Instagram on March 24 to share a video of son Maceo making his best attempt to walk in a pair of her heels.

He looked cozy in a pair of blue flannel pajamas, which he paired with his mom’s white leather stiletto boots.  

Berry shares Maceo with her ex husband Olivier Martinez and shares Nahla with ex Gabriel Aubry.

She’s recently been documenting her fitness journey while starring in and making her directorial debut with her new movie Bruised.

The film follows a disgraced fighter as she reunites with her six-year-old son while preparing to take on a rising MMA star.

The Catwoman star recently earned praise from UFC star Valentina Shevchenko, who told Sports Illustrated: ‘We trained four hours a day with Halle, training non-stop.’

She continued: ‘I don’t know if she will want to be a fighter, but she has the skills and level..and you will see it when the movie is released.’

Berry’s personal trainer Peter Lee Thomas told HollywoodLife of her fitness regimen: ‘This is now her life, and this is so important.’

He added: ‘She doesn’t feel herself when she’s not doing it, because she realizes how beneficial that is and how good it is for the hormones, how good it is for her sleep, how good it is for her.’
