Hal Willner, who produced sketch music for SNL, passes away from coronavirus-related complications at age 64

Hal Willner, who produced sketch music for Saturday Night Live, has died at age 64 from coronavirus-related complications.   

The record producer’s death was confirmed by Variety on Tuesday. 

Willner appeared to suggest he had been contracted the virus when tweeting about being ‘in bed on upper west side’, along with a map of COVID-19 cases across America, on March 28.

Willner had been working on music skits for Saturday Night Live since 1980.

Outside of the show, he produced music for several other big stars.
