‘It’s a light-hearted take on bunkering down’: Guy Sebastian writes a song about being in quarantine amid the COVID-19 pandemic

Guy Sebastian has written a ‘light-hearted’ song about coronavirus.

The 38-year-old started the penning lyrics to the song All For It in Los Angeles, before being forced to fly back to Australia and face two weeks isolation.

But the unprecedented circumstances did nothing to sway Guy’s spirits, writing a song about ‘repopulating the world’ while in quarantine.

‘I had to write a coronavirus song,’ Guy told Perth Now on Wednesday.

He explained: ‘It’s a light-hearted take on bunkering down, that if I have to bunker down with you and repopulate the world, let’s do it.’

The Battle Scars singer has been quarantined with his wife Jules, along with their children, sons Hudson, eight, and Archer, five.

Guy planned on releasing the song during Instagram’s #TogetherAtHome series, where a global line-up of musicians perform virtual concerts for fans.

Guy wanted to use the currently out-of-tune piano in his lobby to film his live show, adding: ‘I don’t care if the [live feed] goes out of sync as long as the audio sounds good!’

The former Australian Idol also hoped to put on online fundraising concerts for the Australian music scene, after seeing his band and crew suffering financially from the new restrictions.

It comes after filming of season nine on The Voice Australia was suspended due to coronavirus earlier this month.

The Playoff rounds were scheduled to be recorded in front of a studio audience at Bulldog Park in Sydney’s west on March 26 and 27.

‘Filming of The Voice has been temporarily postponed in the wake of coronavirus and new Government protocols,’ a Nine spokesperson confirmed to Daily Mail Australia.

As of Wednesday night, there are 2,431 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia and nine deaths.
