Grimes reveals she will release an entirely remixed edition of her latest album Miss Anthropocene on New Year’s Day

Grimes is planning on starting off the new year with a bang.

On Monday, the 32-year-old songbird announced that on New Year’s Day she will release an entirely remixed version of her latest album Miss Anthropocene, entitled Miss Anthropocene Rave Edition.

The LP was originally released in February after roughly two years’ worth of development and will feature new artwork.

Coming soon: On Monday, Grimes announced that she will be releasing a remixed version of her latest record Miss Anthropocene on New Year’s Day; she is seen performing in 2016

Artists who are contributing to the upcoming record include Channel Tres, ANNA, and Julien Brecht, among others.

The remixed album will feature two tracks remixed by Grimes herself, which recently debuted in a DJ mix she performed for Apple Music.

As denoted by the title, the newly mixed songs will have more of an EDM feel to them, in contrast to the original album’s industrial-tinged electropop sound.

The album was the last that Grimes produced for her former label 4AD and it is unclear if the remixed album will be released under the banner as well.

Miss Anthropocene loosely follows a narrative centered around a godlike personification of the ongoing effects of climate change and was said to be inspired by Roman mythology.

The themes on the album were also taken from Grimes’ press exposure in recent years owing to her high-profile relationship with Tesla founder Elon Musk.

In an interview with Crack that was published shortly before Miss Anthropocene’s initial release, the musician spoke about how she felt her public perception had been distorted and misconstrued, to the detriment of her musicianship.

‘Without me doing anything, just by random association with other people, I’ve watched my career and my reputation get totally f****** smashed,’ she noted.

Long time coming: Miss Anthropocene was the result of two years of work and is the musician's fifth overall album
