‘It’s crazy what you can do with some paint,’ Matty said of the grey paint job, which had revitalised the outdated looking dwelling.

‘Our goal was not to lose touch with the 1960’s style of our home, but rather give it a modern facelift, and so we decided to paint the bricks instead of the more common render that would of hidden them,’ he added.

The communications director confessed the couple had sought professional help where they needed it.

‘This was not DIY, we chose to get the experts to do the work here, I would not back my painting skills or my patience for a job this big,’ Matty joked.

The amazing renovation also included the removal of the front carport and the addition of some stylish statement lights.

Sharing close-up images of the painted doors and lamps, Sarah Marie said she was ‘obsessed with the progress’.

She also explained that the renovation wasn’t complete and the couple had more plans for the future.

‘We still have the front porch, garage door, driveway, fencing and landscaping to do. I can’t wait to see our end result,’ she said.

The duo, who welcomed their first son Malik in November, snapped up the property in Kingsgrove for $1.1million in February.

Matty and Sarah’s new home has three bedrooms, one bathroom and a huge garden.

The one-storey property features dark laminate flooring throughout, making it perfect for any accidents from their much-loved bulldog, Bane.

Before making the move to the leafy suburb, makeup artist Sarah and Matty lived in a smaller apartment closer to the city.

The pair, who married in January 2018, have wasted no time renovating the place.

As they self-isolate during the coronavirus pandemic, the first major home improvement they made was replacing the dated metal horizontal blinds with white plantation shutters.

‘We are so bloody happy to be able to still do some renovating during this pandemic and are in love with the final product,’ said Matty, thanking company Shutters Dept.
