Gerard Butler heads out on a bike ride in Santa Monica

He has been keeping fit in lockdown with bike rides and surf sessions. 

And Gerard Butler was spotted out and about again on his bicycle on Thursday, as he rode through Santa Monica, California, after arriving in his car.

The Olympus Has Fallen star, 50, dressed appropriately for the warm weather in a grey T-shirt, a pair of black sports shorts and trainers.

The star ensured he put his safety first and sported a black helmet on his head, as he met up with a pal at a bike trail in the area.

Gerard wore his dark locks swept back off his handsome face and rocked a bushy salt ‘n’ pepper beard. 

Last week, Gerard was seen cycling with his longterm girlfriend Morgan Brown near their Malibu home, where they have been quarantining.

The A-lister and the interior designer have been dating on-and-off for more than five years, with their first outing coming in September of 2014. 

They have previously split amid reports that Gerard couldn’t have a girlfriend while women ‘threw themselves at him’, however they reconciled last summer.

Gerard first rose to prominence by playing the title character in Dracula 2000, and then the iconic Phantom in 2004’s The Phantom of the Opera adaptation.

He became a household name thanks to his beloved role as King Leonidas in 300, based on Frank Miller’s iconic graphic novel.

The actor became a go-to action star with films like Gamer, Law Abiding Citizen and Olympus Has Fallen, which spawned two sequels, London Has Fallen and Angel Has Fallen.  

He’ll next be seen in Greenland, opposite Morena Baccarin and Scott Glenn, about a family who struggles for survival in the face of a cataclysmic natural disaster. 

He also has new film All-Star Weekend in post-production, the directorial debut of his Law Abiding Citizen co-star Jamie Foxx.

Gerard is also reported to be starring in a sequel to his 2019 action-thriller Den of Thieves, along with Remote Control and Afterburn.
