She is dutifully informing the country about the horrors of the deadly coronavirus pandemic on Channel Nine’s nightly news bulletin. 

But Georgie Gardner came under fire on Wednesday when she shared a photo of herself getting her hair and makeup done at the her news desk. 

In the photograph, a hairdresser was seen fixing the back of the 49-year-old’s hair while a makeup artist applied foundation to her visage.  

 ‘Isn’t there a ban on this?’ Georgie Gardner came under fire on Wednesday when she shared a photo of herself getting her hair and makeup done at the her Channel Nine news desk on Wednesday. 

‘I’m not sure they’re smiling along with me… armed and dangerously talented,’ Georgie wrote nonchalantly, referring to her glam squad.

The Instagram image set off immediate reaction from fans, with some less-than-impressed with the intimate three-person gathering.

‘Pretty sure you can’t get your makeup done, mask or no mask. Isn’t their a ban on all beauty industry jobs with the exception of hairdressers,’ one fan raged.     

‘Go without hair and makeup Georgie. You could save lives. I’m pretty sure you don’t need it,’ another fumed.

Daily Mail Australia reached out to Channel Nine for comment.

The general rule of social distancing is that people will remain 1.5 metres apart, ensuring the continued safety of the general community. 

The tough restrictions essentially mean the community will stop the spread of the deadly virus, which experts fear could overwhelm the healthcare system.

As of April 2, there have been 5,108 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Australia along with 23 deaths. Most diagnosed cases have been in Sydney.
