Former NRL star Aidan Guerra swaps his rugby jersey for a chef jacket to cook in an Italian restaurant at The Star Sydney

Aidan Guerra retired from playing with the Sydney Roosters at the end of the 2020 season.

And five months on from announcing he would leave Rugby League after 13 years of living the ‘dream’, the 32-year-old appears to have moved on career wise.

He swapped his NRL jersey for chef whites on Friday when he was seen cooking up a storm at a popular Italian restaurant in Sydney.

The father-of-two was spotted working in the kitchen of Cucina Porto at The Star Sydney about 12pm.

In a series of pictures, Aidan flaunted his culinary skills by cutting up some potatoes and other vegetables.

He appeared to be well and truly in the zone as he worked alongside head chef Martino Pulito, who appeared to be watching his every move.

Along with cutting vegetables, Aidan was operated machinery while transitioning through the cooking process.

His kitchen appearance is a major achievement for the former NRL player, who regularly uploads his cooking creations to Instagram.

‘Nduja And Rosè Pippies. This dish is full of flavour, and only takes about 20mins… My take on yet another Jamie Oliver recipe. Perfect to serve in the pan sitting in the middle of the table when hosting,’ he captioned he last post on January 12.

Other dishes Adain has created, and flaunted online, include massaman lamb shanks, sausage and fennel ragu, garlic prawns, chicken soup, and steak with diane sauce.

His new career is despite purchasing a family abode in Byron Bay, on the New South Wales coast, in July 2017.

He paid $830,000 for a four-bedroom, two-bathroom home on 620 square metres, which had landscaped gardens.

The purchase marked the second investment for Aidan, who invested in a $830,000 one-bedroom home in Sydney’s Queen’s Park in 2015.
