Ferne McCann admits she ‘loves her booty’ after years of feeling ‘insecure’ over her cellulite

EXCLUSIVE ‘I used to say my bum looks like an orange peel’: Ferne McCann says she finally ‘loves her booty’ after years of feeling ‘insecure’ about her cellulite

Ferne McCann finally ‘loves her booty’ after years of feeling ‘insecure’ over her cellulite and comparing her bum to an ‘orange peel.’

The former TOWIE star, 30, admits she suffered from a lack of body confidence and referred to her bottom as a ‘problem area’ – but after ‘a lot of squats and dead lifts’ she now admires her bum and sees it as one of her assets.

In an exclusive interview with MailOnline, Ferne explained that she often takes before and after pictures as a way of tracking her fitness progress, as she refuses to ‘jump on the scales’ or be defined by her dress size.

‘I have given it a lot of self-love’: Ferne McCann finally ‘loves her booty’ after years of feeling ‘insecure’ over her cellulite and comparing her bum to an ‘orange peel’

She told MailOnline: ‘I love my booty. I’m going to put it out there, for me it was always a problem area.

‘I always felt insecure about my derrière and it just shows that if you focus where your energy goes – if you’re negative about something then you are going to feel rubbish about it.

‘I have given it a lot of self-love and worked hard. I have done a lot of squats and a lot of dead lifts to get there.

‘I used to pick myself apart and say I had loads of cellulite and my bum looks like an orange peel and it was really unflattering but this is the body I have got and I needed to give myself more self-love.’

Last week Ferne compared two images of her bum, the throwback picture was taken in 2015 and the other showed her figure as it is today.

She explained: ‘That is how I like to track my progress by taking photos.

‘For example, I trained this morning and I took a picture and I’m going to really focus for the next two weeks and take another picture.

‘I’m not big with jumping on the scales and I am so over being defined by dress size.

‘Ever since I was young, especially being a female it’s like ‘you’re this size, you’re that size’ and it just doesn’t work like that.

‘Sharing them on my social media was daunting because as you can see there was a big difference but it also really helped.’

In recent years, Ferne has focused on her fitness and appreciating her body, after becoming a mum to daughter Sunday, three.

Fans of the reality star have followed her progress and journey into motherhood on ITVBe show First Time Mum that will air its seventh series this year.

And now many of her former TOWIE co-stars are falling pregnant, including Lauren Goodger, 34, who’s expecting her first baby with boyfriend Charles Drury, 23.

Ferne said: ‘It is so nice to see so many of the TOWIE cast growing up.

‘It is that generation of TOWIE that are getting engaged, having children, having their second, it is really sweet. I congratulated Lauren on her Instagram.’

Ferne put her culinary skills to the test as a contestant on Celebrity Best Home Cook on Tuesday night.

She told MailOnline getting positive feedback from judge and former Bake Off star Mary Berry on the show was one of the best things to happen to her.

Ferne said: ‘She is an absolute legend and a national treasure – I have grown up watching her on TV so I was somewhat star-struck. There were a lot of added pressures to this.

‘When I got over the nerves it was a real privilege, when Mary gives you a good comment, I cannot tell you, it is the best feeling in the whole entire world.’
