Farmer Wants a Wife host Natalie Gruzlewski ‘tipped for a huge pay rise’

Farmer Wants a Wife host Natalie Gruzlewski is ‘tipped for a huge pay rise’ after the dating show was a ratings hit for Channel Seven this year

Farmer Wants a Wife has been a huge success for Channel Seven this year.

The rural-themed dating show scored consistently strong ratings throughout its July run thanks to its combination of drama, romance and (mostly) happy endings.

The network has now reportedly decided to reward long-serving host Natalie Gruzlewski with a pay rise, according to New Idea on Monday.

Insiders say 44-year-old Natalie is in a great bargaining position given FWAW’s strong ratings compared to Nine’s Beauty and the Geek and 10’s The Bachelor.

‘The ratings have made everyone at Channel Seven very happy and Nat is in prime position to negotiate a bigger fee,’ claimed a source.

They added that Natalie was the ‘glue that holds the show together’, even amid the plethora of controversies this year – including one farmer’s criminal charges and another’s alleged love-child scandal.

The industry source went on to explain that Natalie’s involvement in the series was crucial to bringing it back after it was previously ‘rested’ for several years.

Eureka Productions, the production company behind Farmer Wants a Wife, reportedly had ‘little interest’ in green-lighting the show without Natalie at the helm.

‘She knows her worth and what she brings to the table,’ added the insider.

Farmer Wants a Wife has one episode left in the tank with its reunion special set to air later this month.

Seven has confirmed the reunion will screen on August 11 at 7:30pm, giving viewers the last word on whether their favourite farmers found lasting love.

It is already set to be an awkward affair for some of the contestants following news Hayley Love is allegedly pregnant with farmer Will Dwyer’s child.
