Former Miss World Australia Erin Holland reveals her surprising injury after months of wearing heavy earrings on the pageant circuit

Erin Holland has revealed she suffered an injury to her ears as a result of wearing heavy earrings during her days on the beauty pageant circuit.

The 31-year-old model, who was crowned Miss World Australia in 2013, finally had her ‘split earlobes’ fixed by a professional on Wednesday.

She told her Instagram followers: ‘Welcome to the aftermath of 15 months of heavy earrings from my time as a beauty queen. I finally got around to having my split earlobes repaired.’

While getting the split earlobes fixed, she also had a ‘suspect-looking’ mole removed.  

The brunette revealed that she had eight stitches in total, and also reminded her fans of the importance of getting regular skin checks.

‘The stitches on the right are from a large mole that was that was growing and starting to look suspicious,’ she added.

‘Don’t put off your skin checks people! It’s too important.’

In the accompanying footage shared to Instagram, Erin swept back her hair to show off her earlobes, which were scarred from the stitches.

Erin’s health scare comes after she was forced to postpone her wedding to cricketer Ben Cutting due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The couple, who had scheduled their wedding for this year, appeared on The Morning Show last week to discuss their plans.

Erin acknowledged that many people were ‘in the same situation’. 

‘I didn’t want to forego that big celebration I envisioned my entire life for my wedding,’ she said. ‘I’m ready to wait until we know family and friends safely under the same roof.’

Ben added: ‘It has given me an extra six months to prepare my speech.’

Erin and Ben began dating in 2015 and became engaged in June 2019.
