Enter Guy and Jules Sebastian’s $3.1million Maroubra ‘fortress’

Guy and Jules Sebastian raised eyebrows last week when security guards were spotted outside of the couple’s ultra-modern Sydney home.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the security team were monitoring the $3.1million Maroubra mansion ’24 hours a day’.

The celebrity couple live in the lavish property with their two children. It was once described by neighbours as a ‘fortress’.

Inside the Sebastian’s unconventional home: Guy and Jules Sebastian’s $3.1million Maroubra mansion has raised eyebrows ever since the couple moved in last year

The family recently self-isolated together at the property during the coronavirus lockdown.

And with amenities like a tennis court and grand piano, the family had plenty of ways to occupy themselves indoors during the lockdown period.

In March, Guy performed an Instagram Live concert for fans. He accompanied himself on the piano situated below the home’s central spiral staircase.

The nine-metre high staircase is made of steel and encased in white render, and serves as the focal point of the main foyer entrance.

Guy and Jules opted for a monochrome palette with their interior design, with concrete walls and black and white features throughout.

Working remotely will be no problem for stylist Jules, who has her own home office.

When it comes to getting some fresh air, the family are fortunate enough to have their own tennis court and luxury outdoor lounge area.

In March, Jules shared a picture of herself reading a book and relaxing in the garden.

The following month, she filmed a video for Instagram from her bathroom, which features a his-and-hers vanity unit, circular mirrors and stylish brass taps.

Guy purchased the $3.1million house in 2013, and then spent two-and-a-half years renovating it. He finally moved in with his family in June 2019.

Neighbours had long complained about the development, with many describing it as a ‘fortress’ because of its monolithic facade and others even threatening to move away from the area.

In December, Guy defended the renovation, telling KIIS FM: ‘It’s a long build, but it’s a pretty special house. It’s not normal. It’s not a cookie-cutter house. It’s cool.’
