Emmy Rossum and her husband Sam Esmail steered clear of the protests roiling Los Angeles on Sunday when they stepped out to pick up coffee.

The 33-year-old Shameless actress and the 42-year-old writer–director stopped by a spot in Toluca Lake in the San Fernando Valley.

Though the couple split their time between New York and LA, they’ve spent the last few months quarantining on the West Coast amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Waking up: Emmy Rossum, 33, and her husband Sam Esmail, 42, stopped by a coffee shop in Toluca Lake on Sunday for a caffeine pick-me-up

Both Emmy and Sam stuck with comfy casual looks for their day on the town.

The 5ft8in actress was swallowed up in a baggy dark green Dartmouth sweatshirt and a relaxed pair of light blue jeans with midnight blue trainers.

She appeared to go makeup-free and wore her thick brunette tresses pulled back in a messy ponytail.

Sam wore a plain black T-shirt with black Adidas track pants and matching black athletic shoes.

The lovers both wore respirator masks in accordance with Los Angeles orders to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Though Sam has previously sported a thick head of dark hair, he seems to have let his gray grow out while quarantining.

Earlier in May, he shared a joking before and after comparison featuring Emmy. The two smiled during a sunset on March 1, but but May 1 he’d gone totally gray and she looked disheveled with a minimal makeup look.

The writer and the Phantom Of The Opera star fist began dating in 2013, before getting engaged two years later and tying the knot in 2017.
