She left the countryside soap, Emmerdale in 2018.

And now Emily Head is set for a return to screens as she has reportedly landed a new role in The Syndicate.

The Sun reports the actress, 31, will now embark on a new role in the lottery-based drama alongside fellow soap stars, Kym Marsh, Gaynor Faye and Katie McGlynn.

New challenge: Former Emmerdale actress Emily Head is set to take on a new role as kennel worker Colette in the lottery drama The Syndicate, according to reports

Emily played the feisty multi-millionaire Rebecca White in Emmerdale, but in 2018, her character made a shocking exit from the village with Ross Barton and never returned.

In contrast, actor and screenwriter Kay Mellor’s drama follows the story of five workers in a Leeds supermarket whose lives change forever when they jointly win the lottery.

The website reports Emily will now play a kennel worker called Colette in The Syndicate.

Writer Kay Mellor told the website: ‘This series is a brand-new story about a syndicate of low paid kennel workers who think they’ve won the lottery but have been robbed of their ticket.

‘The chase to confront the culprit takes us to the wealthy French Riviera where the young syndicate find themselves well out of their depth.’

Emily’s former co-star, Gaynor Faye, is believed to be joining the show too after leaving Emmerdale in 2019, and she also happens to be The Syndicate writer, Kay’s daughter.
