Emmerdale SPOILER: Zak and Debbie Dingle’s return storyline revealed as the family face more drama after Sarah goes missing
Emmerdale spoilers have revealed the return storylines of Zak Dingle and granddaughter Debbie as the characters make their long-awaited comeback to the Dales.
And as usual for the Dingles, there’s plenty of drama ahead as Debbie’s teenage daughter Sarah goes missing, just as the two arrive in the village.
Zak, played by Steve Halliwell, has been off screen since June last year, while Debbie (Charley Webb) had been away since Summer 2019, with the pair both living in Scotland.

Debbie made a brief appearance in the Christmas Day special when she was revealed as Al Chapman’s mystery woman.
But the feisty mechanic and her grandad are set to make their comeback to the fold, with Zak keen to once again take his place as head of the family.
It’s set to be an anxious time for them both as Sarah (Katie Hill) disappears after reconnecting with drug dealer ex Danny (Louis Healy).
Sarah takes drugs with Danny and the two hide out in a freezing barn, with the pair bonding over their dysfunctional families.

As the two grow closer and start to undress one another, they are interrupted by Debbie and mum Charity (Emma Atkins), with Danny swiftly doing a runner.
With Debbie demanding answers from her young daughter, her anger soon turns to concern as she notices Sarah acting erratic and begs her reveal what she’s taken.
Sarah then opens up about feeling lonely while her mum had been away from the village and also confesses to planting drugs in Ethan’s jacket.
With Debbie wracked with guilt over her daughter, will she do the right thing and make Sarah go to the police over her actions?

Meanwhile, Zak is also full of guilt as he apologises to daughter Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) for not being there for her during her recent hospital admission.
Belle struggled with psychosis and was hospitalised after having hallucinations and hearing her late mum Lisa’s voice after she was implicated in the hit-and-run last year.
Zak makes it clear that he’s here for Belle, but with everything she’s been through, can Belle forgive her dad for not being there in her hour of need?
