‘It’s going to feel like a bit of a jump!’ Emily Andre admits she doesn’t want her son Theo, 4, to start school soon as she claims ‘he’s not quite ready’

Peter Andre’s wife Emily has admitted she doesn’t want her son Theo to start school in September.

In a new issue of her magazine column, the doctor, 31, claimed she doesn’t believe her four-year-old is ‘quite ready’ for primary education yet as he currently only goes to nursery for nine hours a week.

The Lorraine star said: ‘Theo is starting school in September so my biggest hope is that he enjoys it. It’s going to be a big deal for me, and with him only doing nine hours a week at nursery at the moment, it’s going to feel like a bit of a jump.’

Media personality Emily added that she feels more emotional about her child’s next step as Theo is the ‘baby of the family’.

The TV star added to OK!: ‘He started nursery last year which was very emotional. I felt it more than when I took Millie because I still had Theo at home then, whereas in September I’ll have an empty nest!

‘He’s still my little baby and I don’t want to let him go, but I have to! To me I still don’t feel like he’s quite ready to start school. He probably is and it’s just me feeling that way, but Millie seemed so grown up and ready to go I still see Theo as the baby of the family and I think I always will.’

The healthcare professional and singer Peter, 47, also share daughter Amelia, six, while the Mysterious Girl hitmaker also has son Junior, 15, and daughter Princess, 13, with ex-wife Katie Price.

The duo recently claimed they hope to have another baby once Theo enters primary school.

The couple have been married for five years, after their relationship began in 2012, two years after they met through her surgeon father Ruaraidh, who introduced them after he performed emergency kidney stone removal on Peter.

After welcoming their two tots, the doctor enthused she is open to having more children but the COVID pandemic has sparked concern.

She said: ‘We’ve previously said we might have another baby after Theo goes to school and we’ve decided we’re gonna talk about it properly after Christmas.

‘I’m still unsure about being pregnant and giving birth in a pandemic. Even through there are various vaccines on the way, we may not be back to normal for some time.’
