Ellen DeGeneres gives her social media followers some light-hearted entertainment as she FaceTimes her friend Kevin Hart

Her eponymous daytime talk show went from filming without an audience to completely shutting down amid coronavirus fears.

Ellen DeGeneres didn’t let that shutdown stop her from entertaining her 85.6 million Instagram followers.

The 62-year-old comedian shared a video to Instagram of herself having a hilarious catch-up call with her friend Kevin Hart on Thursday.

Getting lonely: Ellen DeGeneres, 62, entertained her 85.6 million Instagram followers on Thursday when she filmed a FaceTime chat she had with her fellow comedian Kevin Hart

Ellen didn’t try to make a bit of the conversation, instead asking Kevin what he was doing to keep busy while trying to isolate himself from society.

First, he had to introduce his children as they wandered through the living room, including his daughter Heaven, 15, son Hendrix, 12, and his two-year-old son Kenzo.

He also pointed out his wife Eniko Parrish, 35, while Ellen revealed that her wife Portia de Rossi, 47, was filming the whole conversation.

Kevin seemed to be relaxing while his children were being homeschooled.

‘My son keeps lying to me, telling me he’s on break when I know he’s not,’ he joked.

Kevin got a laugh out of Ellen when he said he was the last powerful member of his family.

He said he was watching ‘a bit of tv that I want to watch because my son runs the household. So I just pretty much stand in the middle of the living room and do nothing.’

Kevin also told Ellen he was workshopping some material in front of his family at home after returning to stand-up.

‘I’m working on my set here in the house,’ he revealed, before adding, ‘I’ve been bombing a lot. Nobody’s laughing,’ which got a laugh out of his fellow comedian.

The Jumanji star also pointed out one of the sacrifices he had to make due to the coronavirus: hair dye.

‘I’m going gray. You know why? My barber’s not working,’ he complained.

‘Everyone’s going gray,’ Ellen replied, though she said she didn’t see any gray hairs from the FaceTime display.

‘What are you talking about? I look like Morgan Freeman’s nephew!’ he shot back.

Kevin also said he was following recommendations by making sure there were fewer than 10 people in his house, though he seemed to get a little confused when he tried to count his children and other people in his home.

‘It’s good that you’re just starting to count the family members right now,’ Ellen joked

The need to stay home seems to be hitting Ellen pretty hard, as she’s been calling up her celebrity friends in recent days to occupy herself.

On Wednesday, she shared her calls with Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, as well as John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, and she also fit in a call with comedian Tiffany Haddish earlier on Thursday.

The Mr. Wrong star also got some pointers on a card trick from magician David Blaine, though she had some trouble mastering his technique.
