EastEnders SPOILER: Stuart Highway confronts Max Branning over wife Rainie and DEMANDS he divorces her in intense scenes

Tensions are set to rise between Max Branning (Jake Wood) and Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) after the former refuses to divorce estranged wife Rainie.

In scenes set to air on EastEnders on Tuesday night, the pair are seen in an arguing with one another before Stuart grabs Max by the scruff of the neck.

On Monday, viewers were left ecstatic when Rainie (Tanya Franks) agreed to marry Stuart even after his poorly executed proposal, as the pair confessed their love in emotional scenes together.

But the joy was short-lived when Rainie’s brother Callum reminded her that she was still legally married to Max, thus throwing a spanner in the works.

And when Stuart tries to confront Max about officially divorcing Rainie, the latter appears to be uninterested in complying.

Threatening him for his complacency, Max is then forced to reveal the real reason why he doesn’t want to legally split from her.

But will Stuart understand? Or will he try and make Max sign the divorce papers in any case?

In March it was revealed that filming for EastEnders had been suspended amid the coronavirus pandemic and it will cut it’s weekly number of episodes to just two in a bid to ‘ration’ their filmed content.  

In a statement shared Wednesday the BBC said: ‘In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, it has been decided that filming on EastEnders will be postponed until further notice. 

‘The decision was made after the latest Government update. We will continue to follow the latest news and advice from the World Health Organisation and Public Health England. 

‘We have also taken the decision to reduce the amount of episodes we broadcast each week to two, so that we can ensure the audience can continue to enjoy EastEnders in their homes for as long as possible.’

In reference to their scripted programmes Casualty, Doctors, EastEnders, Holby City, Pobol y Cwm and River City, the corporation said: ‘In light of the spread of Covid-19, after much consideration, it has been decided that filming on all BBC Studios continuing dramas will be postponed until further notice. 

‘The decision was made after the latest Government update. We will continue to follow the latest news and advice from the World Health Organisation and public health organisations.’ 

It is thought that EastEnders’ films up to six weeks in advance, meaning they would have around 24 episodes worth of content already filmed.
