In the scene, Max joined Ruby in the cafe where he apologised for his earlier behaviour and suggested they make things up with a bottle of champagne later.

He asked: ‘Why don’t I come round your new place tonight and bring you a bottle of champagne?’

Seemingly impressed by his offer, Ruby replied: ‘If you bring me a bottle I might let you in’ before leaning in for a smooch.

With another adding: ‘So the hubby and I were watching Eastenders last night and we both gasped at the same time when Ruby stood up to kiss Max – OMG she has no legs haa haa x x.’

Meanwhile, despite making up, Max admitted that he couldn’t carry on with their open relationship, after growing jealous of her closeness to Martin Fowler (James Bye).

However, instead of committing to Max exclusively, Ruby coldly ended their romance and said it was best they go their separate ways.
