Dwyane Wade stifles laughter as little Kaavia stays sullen despite Shaquille O’Neal’s funny faces

She has been warming hearts with her grumpy facial expressions online.

And this week Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union’s one-year-old daughter Kaavia was true to form as Shaquille O’Neal tried to make her laugh.

On a video-conference episode of NBA On TNT Shaq made funny faces and silly noises in an attempt to raise a smile from the determinedly sullen toddler.

Dwyane and Shaq had been dishing about the baby’s social media presence on the episode with Candace Parker and Adam Lefkoe.

Kaavia has gone viral with a string of sweet snaps of her in a grouchy mood, and Adam called her ‘the number one Internet star of quarantine.’

Adam was especially delighted by a picture Dwyane posted on March 15 of his little girl sitting on the couch with a dour look on her face.

‘This picture right here is all of us, sitting, waiting, wondering what’s gonna happen,’ said the sportscaster. 

Soon afterward as if on cue Gabrielle entered the room cradling Kaavia, handed her to Dwyane and headed off to enjoy a bit of candied bacon.

Candace sang a little song for the baby and succeeded in making her smile – but when Shaq’s turn came he was not so lucky.

‘Kaavia, my name is uncle Shaqy! Shaqy!’ he said, wiggling his head and making a few zany noises to entertain the little tyke.

Dwyane had to pull his shirt up over his mouth to stifle his laughter, while Candace and Adam almost broke too, but the baby was decidedly unimpressed.

Gabrielle and Dwyane, who welcomed Kaavia through in vitro fertilization in 2018, have lovingly nicknamed her their #shadybaby.

The couple married in 2014 and have also been raising his children by previous relationships, as well as his nephew whom he adopted.
