Dua Lipa revealed she was shocked to hear her album Future Nostalgia had been shortlisted for Album of the Year at the 2020 Hyundai Mercury Prize Awards this weekend.
Riding high on the great news, the British-born singer got to enjoy a gorgeous summertime day in New York City on Sunday.
Lipa was seen while out and about with a couple of friends during the afternoon, which included some bonding time with model Maya Stepper.

Lipa and Stepper were spotted outside The Butcher’s Daughter eatery, sipping on a couple of smoothies outside the establishment.
The Don’t Start Now star, 24, gave more than a hint of her toned midriff in a black crop top that was paired with black denim jeans.
She carried a stylish black purse and had her dark tresses pulled back into a ponytail.
Stepper also showed off her toned figure in a white crop top, black mini-skirt and pulled her blonde hair into a ponytail.

In adherence to health and safety regulations amid the COVID-19 crisis, both ladies wore black protective masks, with the exception of some moments when they were alone together looking at photos on their phones.
They also shed their masks when they sat down on a bench to take a photo that was shared on the singer’s Instagram Story.
Later in the day, Lipa made a wardrobe change into a plunging, multi-patterned top that showed off her cleavage and then met up with another friend in the West Village neighborhood of Downtown Manhattan.
She also put that colorful top on display in a short video that was shot while riding in a car.
‘Bored in the car and I’m in the car bored,’ she captioned the short clip on her Insta-Story.

Upon learning the news of her album Future Nostalgia’s nomination, Lipa took to Twitter to share her excitement.
‘My manager Ben called me on the phone when I was in New York and told me I was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize and I couldn’t believe it,’ she wrote.
‘I never really thought that would ever happen for me so I am really excited to have been shortlisted and for the recognition. The support means so much to me and it’s kind of surreal because maybe I just didn’t think I was cool enough.’
