Drew Barrymore to host Taco Tuesday for McCormick Spice, which vows to donate $1M to No Kid Hungry

Golden Globe winner Drew Barrymore is ‘honored’ to host McCormick Spice’s charitable Taco Tuesday celebration on Instagram Live this Tuesday night from 6:30-7pm EST.

McCormick Spice vowed to donate $1M to the non-profit Share Our Strength’s national campaign No Kid Hungry in support of frontline workers and food banks amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Tacos are no joke for the 45-year-old former child star, who grew up in Sherman Oaks – ‘where the culture is steeped in Mexican food’ – and still eats them for breakfast every day.  

‘This is one of the most meaningful things I have ever been lucky enough to be a part of,’ Drew – who boasts 17M social media followers – gushed.

‘We have raised $1M. I say we, it’s all [McCormick Spice]. I’m really the ambassador to this program…Let’s make it special and let’s do it together because we are all so disconnected in space and time, but we do have the wonderful technology to bring us together.’

Barrymore plans on incorporating McCormick’s original taco seasoning mix when she whips up a recipe from Wesley Avila and Richard Parks III’s 2017 cookbook, Guerrilla Tacos.

These days, the Santa Clarita Diet actress has transformed into a full-blown influencer thanks to her paid partnerships with companies like Black Forest Gummy Bears, Shutterfly, Panera Bread, and Uber.  

Drew also shared a touching eight-minute video on Monday wishing her best friend and Flower Films partner Nancy Juvonen Fallon a happy 53rd birthday.

Barrymore discussed how she met the Emmy-nominated producer when she was 19 years old during her glorious Guess Girl hey day.

‘I met her and I dared her to start this company with me,’ the former Hollywood wildchild recalled.

‘And what I ended up getting was one of the loves of my life, and one of the best friends I have or will ever have, and one of the people who would change my life forever. We worked on tons of movies together.’  

Nancy has two daughters – Winnie, 6; and Frances, 5 – with her husband of 12 years, The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon.

Drew also happens to have two daughters – Olive, 7; and Frankie, 6 – from her four-year third marriage to art consultant Will Kopelman, which ended in 2016.

‘They’re doing really well [in quarantine] and my thing is if they’re okay, then I have no right to be anything but okay,’ Barrymore told People last month.

‘Things affect them in strange ways.’

The World’s Best judge’s next movie The Stand-In was supposed to premiere at the 19th Annual Tribeca Film Festival on April 23, but the fest was postponed due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
