‘She was lucky to only receive a £4,417 fine!’: Dr Emily Andre SLAMS Zara Holland for trying to flee Barbados with her Covid positive boyfriend

Peter Andre’s wife Emily has slammed Love Island star Zara Holland for trying to flee Barbados with her Covid positive boyfriend Elliott Love.

The doctor, 31, who has been working on the frontline throughout the pandemic, hit out at the television personality for putting other peoples’ health at risk.

Emily also voiced her opinion on a number of stars who have flown abroad for ‘work’ purposes, saying it is insensitive to flaunt being in tropical destinations while the nation is stuck at home.

Emily wrote in her OK! Magazine column: ‘So many celebrities have been criticised for travelling abroad during lockdown. We don’t know the circumstances and some of them could be working, but I think if they are breaking the rules then they shouldn’t be putting it on social media when we’re all stuck in lockdown back home!

‘Former Love Island star Zara Holland was lucky to only receive a £4,417 fine after breaching quarantine rules in Barbados.

‘You have to put the health of other people first and to try and leave Barbados after her boyfriend tested positive wasn’t the right thing to do.’

Last week, Zara, 30, was warned she could face up to a year in jail for trying to flee the island with her boyfriend Elliott Love after he tested positive for Covid.

The Love Island star clasped her hands together and wore a face mask as she took to the stand in Bridgetown and escaped with a £4,417 fine.

Zara’s boyfriend Elliott, 30, remains in isolation on the island’s Paragon Isolation Centre where he has been since their arrest trying to flee Grantley Adams Airport on December 29.

After the hearing the star’s lawyer, Andrew Pilgrim QC, blamed her ‘lapse’ in judgment on a ‘foolish error’.

However after Elliott tested positive for the virus she became extremely nervous about their situation when they were told to quarantine in their hotel.

That led to their ‘foolish’ decision to try to leave the island, he explained.
