DIRECTOR’S DEALS: Card Factory chief exec Karen Hubbard snaps up £10,937 in shares after slump

Card Factory’s boss Karen Hubbard bought thousands of shares in the struggling retailer after a profit warning wiped off a quarter of the company’s value.

Hubbard, who has been chief executive since 2016, spent £10,937 buying 10,000 shares for 109.37p a pop. 

Dismal trading over the Christmas period means the firm expects annual profits to come in at between £81million and £83million – below forecasts of £87million and the £89.4million it made last year.

Shares fell 28.8 per cent, or 40.4p, to 99.7p.
