Denise van Outen’s teaching skills are branded ‘horrible’ by daughter Betsy, 9

Families up and down the country are currently in lockdown, meaning homeschooling is commencing. 

And Denise van Outen proved it is not the easiest task for some parents as she took to Instagram on Wednesday to ask her daughter how her teaching skills are. 

Turning the camera to Betsy, nine, who was doing a comprehension, the schoolgirl announced that Denise’s skills were ‘horrible’ and she has ‘no patience’.

The TV legend, 45, shares Betsy with her ex-husband Lee Mead, who she was married to from 2009 to 2013. 

Speaking to the camera, a part-disgruntled, part-tickled Betsy said: ‘Really horrible, she has no patience. I’m doing a comprehension. I’m still on the first question! You’ll never get the job (as a school teacher)’.

Despite the tension of the situation, Denise could be heard chuckling in the background as they continued to work through quarantine. 

Prior to lockdown, Denise graced screens as The Fox on The Masked Singer and revealed both Betsy and her boyfriend Eddie Boxshall’s shock at her big reveal.  

Denise appeared on Good Morning Britain last month to talk about the show where she said: ‘My daughter Betsy had no idea. She watched with her best friend.

‘A lot of her friends at school asked if I was the Fox and she would ask me…

‘As a child watching she thought it was live and didn’t know it was pre-recorded, and I would say to her, “How could I be on TV if I’m sitting right here?”

‘She was really confused. I kept it a secret from Eddie too.’

Denise has previously been known for her incredible voice as a star in the West End and Broadway and during her time on the show performed a series of energetic dance hits.
